Hey Curlies! 

This is your Curl Power Ambassador Icy and today I will be teaching you my simple yet effective weekly curl-care routine. 

As an on-the-go person, I love to organize my tasks every day in accomplishing my goals and of course, in taking care of my curls. I work two jobs; one being a full-time writer for a local bank and the other being freelance work as a brand coordinator. On the side, I devote at least 1 to 1 and a half hours every other day to working out. 

So here is my uncomplicated and efficient curly hair routine to effortlessly achieve defined curls. 

I’d like to call it, my “On-the-go CGM Routine”

Day 1: 

Day 1 is the most time-consuming one so I usually do this on a Sunday. 

What I normally do is use a clarifying shampoo to really cleanse my scalp and remove all the product buildup from the past week. 

This is also a perfect time to use a deep conditioner such as the Curls Avocado and Tea Tree Deep Conditioner. I apply a generous amount on my hair tips and leave it on for 15 minutes as the ends of my curls tend to be more damaged.

After deep conditioning, I rinse my hair thoroughly and apply a leave-in conditioner and style as usual then air dry.

Tip: To ensure you achieve defined curls, l suggest you brush style with a 9-row Curl Defining Brush or a Boar Bristle Brush to enhance the shine.

Days 2 & 3: 

These are probably some of the best and most relaxed days. 

Depending on how you preserve your curls when you sleep during these days, you don’t need to do a lot. I use a satin head cap, and/or a silk pillowcase when I sleep. 

The only thing I do when I wake up is shake my hair to add volume and proceed with my day. But on days when I feel like my hair is not at its best, what I usually do is use a spray bottle to wet my hair and apply a small amount of gel to refresh and revive my curls.

Day 4: 

By this time, you must wash your hair again.

If I feel like there is build up on my scalp, I usually use the Curls by Zenutrients Avocado and Tea Tree Sulfate-free Shampoo to cleanse my scalp. Though if there is minimal to no build up, you can opt on using the Curls by Zenutrients Avocado and Tea Tree Protein-Free Conditioner to co wash and clean your scalp. Afterward, apply leave-in conditioner, style as usual, and let your hair air dry.

Day 5:

On the 5th day, just shake your head to add volume and go on with your day!

Days 6 & 7: 

Refresh Day! On the 6th day, I normally just refresh and style my hair in a pineapple bun or a sleek ponytail. But if I feel a little bit extra, I use my Curls by Zen x Neon Island Scarf to style my hair.

So, there you go! Easy right? If you are always on the go, try this routine and see if it works for you. At the end of the day, the most important advice I can give is to listen to your hair and what it needs.
